PRAKTIK CHARGER 10 is an electronic charger for charging 6 and 12 volt lead-acid batteries:
WET (liquid - acidic)
GEL (gel)
MF (maintenance free)
AGM (with fiberglass mat)
EFB (for vehicles with Start-Stop system)
The rectifier has a microprocessor control system, ensures automatic shutdown after reaching the required voltage on the battery and automatic resumption of charging when the battery voltage drops.
Each time the charger is turned on, it automatically sets the last memorized parameters (helpful with repeated use and in the event of power outages).
Cold battery charging function: optimizes charging at very low temperatures (low temperatures may adversely affect the chemical structure of the battery components).
The charging process
The 9-step charging process ensures optimal battery charging conditions. The automatic control system will adjust each of the 9 charging stages to correctly charge the battery:
STEP 1 - DIAGNOSTIC - Analyzes the battery and checks if it can accept the charging current; prevents charging of a damaged battery.
STEP 2 - RECOVERY CHARGE - Low voltage batteries are precharged with low current, but increased voltage; deeply discharged batteries can be restored to serviceable condition and this ensures a longer battery life, this step is skipped if the battery is minimally discharged and in good condition.
STEP 3 - SOFT START - the rectifier gradually increases the charging current until the preset charging current is reached.
STEP 4 - PULSE CHARGE - The battery is charged with a pulse current (the pulse fluctuates within the DC current range).
STAGE 5 - RECONDITIONING - preparatory stage for charging in the bulk charge stage.
STAGE 6 - BULK CHARGE - charging with a constant current value to the previously set voltage (14.4 ÷ 14.7V).
STEP 7 - ABSORPTION CHARGE - after reaching the required level of battery charge, it will switch to constant voltage (CV) charging and the charging process will end.
STEP 8 - EVALUATION DIAGNOSTIC - automatic monitoring of the battery voltage after completion of charging.
STAGE 9 - MAINTENANCE CHARGE - the stage that maintains the battery (float) and monitors its condition; resumes charging with reduced current if necessary.
